Time running out to comment on MO library rule

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - It's the final week to weigh in on Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft's proposed rule for state libraries and several local libraries want you to chime in.

The Maryville Public Library says regardless of where you stand on Ashcroft's rule, they encourage everyone to comment.

Ashcroft wants libraries to have written policies determining what is age appropriate and to keep funding from being used to get inappropriate materials.

Under this rule, parents could also challenge what a library decides is suitable for children. The Missouri Library Association is against the proposal.
