Iowa dentist surrenders license after allegations

scales of justice

GLENWOOD, Iowa - A southwest Iowa dentist with a troubled history has agreed to surrender his license following allegations of sexual misconduct.

Dr. Calvin Weber reached this decision after the Iowa Dental Board took action against him last December.

The board, citing concerns about public safety, suspended the 65-year-old practitioner's license on an emergency basis, leading to his agreement to surrender it.

This move follows a series of troubling events, including criminal charges filed against Weber last year.

In July 2023, a woman reported to Glenwood Police that Weber had made inappropriate remarks and touched her inappropriately during a dental appointment.

He was subsequently charged with assault, found guilty in December 2023, and fined. This isn't the first time Weber has faced such allegations.

Back in 1994, he surrendered his license after similar accusations of unprofessional conduct. Despite efforts to reinstate his license in 2006, the recent incident has led to his decision to relinquish it once again.
