JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation is offering Free Fishing Days next month. During June 8 - 9, anyone can fish in Missouri without needing a permit, trout permit, or daily tag.
Free Fishing Days is an annual event that encourages people to enjoy Missouri's abundant fishing opportunities. While permits aren't needed, regular fishing regulations, such as size and catch limits, still apply.
Special permits may be required in certain areas, and trespass laws remain in effect on private property.
Missouri boasts over a million acres of surface water, home to more than 200 fish species, including 20 game fish popular with the state's 1.1 million anglers.
