Shenandoah will celebrate Everly Brothers Family Heritage Day next Thursday, with a lineup of events honoring the iconic musical duo, Phil and Don Everly.
The day kicks off at 3:30 p.m. with a screening of the documentary "Harmonies from Heaven" at the Public Library and later at the Everly Brothers Childhood Home. The film chronicles the brothers' rise to fame in the 1950s and 60s.
At 6:00 p.m., there will be an outdoor concert by the Touch of Grey band at Depot Deli, blending classic rock and Everly Brothers hits. Band members include Matt Wilber, John Scherle, DaVal Johnson, Sandy Steckman, and Josh Mason, all seasoned performers from Iowa and Nebraska.
A new Everly Brothers Family t-shirt, featuring a vintage family photo, will be available for $20 at the concert and online. For more details about the event, contact the Shenandoah Chamber & Industry Association at 712-246-3455 or visit sciaiowa.com.
