One of the best states in the nation to have a baby is right here in our listening area.
According to the financial website Wallet-Hub, Iowa is the 7th best state in the U.S. to have a baby. As for other states in our listening area, Nebraska ranked 20th, Kansas ranked 31st and Missouri ranked 33rd.
For this study, Wallet-Hub looked at several factors, including pregnancy costs, annual infant costs, the mortality rate, the number physicians per capita and several other important metrics. The best state to have a baby was Massachusetts while the worst was Mississippi.
