JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation and the Missouri Community Forestry Council are now accepting nominations for the 2024 Missouri Arbor Award of Excellence.
This annual award honors communities, institutions, businesses, organizations, and individuals who make significant efforts to care for trees in their areas.
Officials say the award recognizes outstanding tree stewardship on both public and private properties. Any program, project, or event that significantly contributes to tree care or maintenance can qualify for the award.
Winners will receive a framed award, a scholarship to the M-C-F-C conference in August, an extra ticket to the award banquet, a community forestry reference book, and a $50 gift card. Nominations are due by Monday, July 15.
