ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The St. Joseph Public Library says Dr. Jay Lemanski is returning this summer with fascinating sessions on Ancient Astronomy, starting Saturday, June 15 at 1 p.m.
The first session, "How Do We Know? The Case of MUL.MUL," will explain how to identify Sumerian or Akkadian star and planet names. Following sessions include "The Circular Astrolabe" on June 29, "VAT 243: The Solar System Seal" on July 13, and "The Principles of Divination" on July 27.
Dr. Lemanski brings extensive knowledge of ancient astronomical texts and Mesopotamian astronomy. The program is for adults, and those with disabilities should contact the A-D-A coordinator at 816-232-4038.
