ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - A St. Joseph school board member pleaded guilty this week to a misdemeanor charge of second-degree harassment.
The charge against Whitney Lanning stems from a February 26 incident involving another board member, Isaura Garcia.
During a hearing before Associate Circuit Judge Chad Gaddie, Lanning was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to attend anger management classes.
Court documents and security footage reveal that after a Board of Education meeting, Lanning approached Garcia, yelled at her, followed her, and threw her property against a wall.
Lanning also faces a civil suit related to the incident, with no hearings scheduled yet in that case.
