MARYVILLE, Mo. - The City of Maryville has been awarded a $264,690.89 grant from the American Rescue Plan Act to upgrade its public safety radio equipment.
This funding, provided by the Missouri Department of Public Safety, will help the Maryville Department of Public Safety (MPDS) replace crucial interoperable radio equipment.
The total project cost is $529,381.78, with the city matching the grant with funds from its Capital Improvement Fund sales tax.

The new equipment, including vehicular repeaters, portable radios, mobile radios, and control stations, will be used by all three MPDS divisions: police, fire, and communications.
This upgrade will implement the Missouri Statewide Interoperability Network (MOSWIN) at Level 1, ensuring reliable and clear communication across the region.

City Manager Greg McDanel stated, "Receiving this grant is a significant step forward for our public safety operations. The upgraded radio system will enhance our emergency response capabilities, ensure the safety of our first responders, and improve communication during critical incidents."
