OAKLAND, Iowa - Iowa authorities are investigating a mysterious bright blue liquid discovered in the East Nishnabotna River, west of Oakland in Pottawattamie County.
Samples of the liquid have been sent to the State Hygienic Lab for analysis. So far, no dead fish have been found in the area, but officials remain concerned about the potential environmental impact.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is asking for public assistance in identifying how the liquid ended up in the river. If you have any information, you're urged to contact the DNR field office in Atlantic at 712-243-1934.
