WATHENA, Kan. - A major investment is coming to the Kansas part of the KXCV/KRNW listening area. Gov. Laura Kelly announced that Summit Truck Bodies will invest $50 million to build a new facility in Wathena.
This expansion will help meet the growing demand for high-quality service trucks, doubling the company's production output and creating 80 new jobs.
The new facility will feature a 200,000-square-foot manufacturing space and 20,000 square feet for offices and showrooms.
Plant Manager Chris Walter highlighted that the expansion will integrate new technology and streamline processes, improving production efficiency and enhancing customer support.
Construction of the new plant is expected to be completed in 20 months, adjacent to the existing facility.
