CHILLICOTHE, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation’s Chillicothe office is buying tree and shrub seeds from the public throughout October.
Seeds can be dropped off every Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., except for October 23, when the office will be open until 4 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome during regular business hours.
The MDC is purchasing a variety of seeds, including hickory, dogwood, redbud, persimmon, buckeye, oak, and hackberry. Prices range from $0.75 to $12.75 per pound, depending on the species.
Seed quality must meet MDC standards, and some seeds have specific requirements. For more details, call 660-646-6122 or visit the Chillicothe office.
