LATHROP, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 22-year-old man from California sustained serious injuries after his semi-truck went off the road near Lathrop.
Hector Fonseca Mendez, of Madera, was driving on U.S. Interstate 35 around 7:30 a.m. Monday when, after passing another vehicle, his semi veered off the road.
The semi went down an embankment, struck the ground several times, and collided with a fence before coming to a stop. He was transported to Cameron Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
It’s unclear whether he was wearing a seatbelt at the time.
