JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - With deer and turkey hunting season underway in Missouri, the Missouri Department of Conservation is urging non-hunters to practice safety while outdoors.
Hunters are reminded to clearly identify their targets and non-hunters to take precautions.
Safety tips for non-hunters include wearing bright clothing, keeping pets on a leash with orange vests or bandanas, and staying on designated trails.
Non-hunters should be especially cautious during early morning and late afternoon when hunters are most active.
