DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is offering $900,000 in grants for communities to plant trees, funded by the USDA Forest Service’s Inflation Reduction Act.
The grants are available to local governments and community organizations for tree planting on public properties, aiming to diversify tree canopies, reduce energy costs, and improve access to green spaces.
Eligible projects can receive between 10,000 dollars and 30,000 dollars, with no matching funds required. Planting will take place in the spring and fall of 2025 and 2026.
