OSBORN, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is offering a free class near Osborn on December 11, teaching hunters how to turn deer hides into rawhide.
The session will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Pony Express Conservation Area’s Trial Barn. Participants will work with hides in various stages of preparation and learn to scrape their own.
MDC will provide tools, but participants are encouraged to bring old clothes and a rubber apron or trash bag for protection.
Registration is required, and hunters must bring hides with a Conservation ID or Telecheck number. Visit MDC’s website to register and get more details.
