JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri farmers and food processors looking to obtain organic certification can receive financial assistance through the USDA’s National Organic Certification Cost Share Program.

The Missouri Department of Agriculture has extended the application deadline to Monday, December 16.

Producers can be reimbursed for up to $750, covering 75% of certification costs incurred between October 1, 2023, and September 30, 2024.

Missouri has nearly $50,000 in funds available for the program, and reimbursements will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis until the funds are exhausted.

To qualify, businesses must complete an application and document their certification expenses.

Applications and additional information are available on the Missouri Department of Agriculture’s Organic Cost Share Program webpage or by calling (573) 751-7794.
