St. Joseph, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work the Missouri Department of Transportation has planned in the Northwest Missouri region for the week of Nov. 18-24. There also may be moving operations throughout the region, in addition to the work mentioned below. Inclement weather may cause schedule changes in some of the planned work. Check the MoDOT Traveler Information Map at http://traveler.modot.org, or download the app for updated information. MoDOT asks drivers to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, slowing down and moving over in work zones. Andrew County Interstate 29 – Bridge maintenance northbound at the Nodaway River Bridge, Nov. 18-20. The bridge will be narrowed to one lane around-the-clock, with a reduced speed of 60 mph. Atchison County U.S. Route 59 – Ditching and shoulder work in Fairfax from the hospital entrance to Route J, Nov. 18-22. U.S. Route 136 – Pothole patching from the Nodaway County line to Route M, Nov. 22. Buchanan County Route 6 – Permitted signal improvements at Lenoard Road, Nov. 18-22. Signals will be turned off and the intersection treated as a four-way stop weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. U.S. Route 169 (Belt Highway) – Permit/utility work at Route YY (Mitchell Avenue) intersection, starting Monday, Nov. 18 at 6 a.m. through Saturday Nov. 23. Crews will narrow the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 169 to one lane through the intersection. Both east and westbound lanes of Route YY will also be narrowed to one lane. Utility work planned at intersection of U.S. Route 169, Route YY in St. Joseph | Missouri Department of Transportation (modot.org) Caldwell County Route D – CLOSED until further notice at the Shoal Creek Bridge due to deck deterioration. This bridge is currently scheduled for the January 2025 contractor letting through the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program. https://www.modot.org/route-d-bridge-replacement-caldwell Carroll County Route EE – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from 201 Road to 203 Road, Nov. 19, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Chariton County Route 11 – CLOSED at the Salt Creek Bridge for a bridge replacement project through March 2025. (Capital-Horner & Shifrin). *1 Daviess County Route T – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from U.S. Route 69 to 141st Street, Nov. 19, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Route YY – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from 290th Street to Harbor Avenue, Nov. 19, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Route B – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route 13 to Route UU, Nov. 19-22, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Route YY – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Harbor Avenue to Route P, Nov. 22, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Harrison County I-35 – Bridge repair north of Bethany on East 280th Street. The bridge is narrowed to one lane through early-December 2024. (R.A. Knapp Construction, Inc.). Holt County I-29 – Bridge maintenance northbound at the Nodaway River Bridge, Nov. 18-20. The bridge will be narrowed to one lane around-the-clock, with a reduced speed of 60 mph. Nodaway County Route NN – CLOSED until further notice at the Platte River Bridge west of Parnell due to significant bridge deterioration. This bridge is currently scheduled for the March 2025 contractor letting through the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program. Route VV – CLOSED for core drilling at the Platte River Bridge west of Conception, Nov. 18-19, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Route H – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from 400th Street to 390th Street, Nov. 19-20, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Route WW – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from 350th Street to 335th Street, Nov. 20-22, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. U.S. Route 71 – Pothole patching from Route FF to the Iowa state line, Nov. 18-20. U.S. Route 136 – Pothole patching from U.S. Route 71 to the Atchison County line, Nov. 21-22. Putnam County Route 129 – CLOSED at the North Blackbird Creek Bridge for a bridge rehabilitation project through February 2025. (Capital-Horner & Shifrin). *1 Route M – CLOSED at the Medicine Creek Fork Bridge for a bridge rehabilitation project through January 2025. (Capital-Horner & Shifrin). *1 Sullivan County Route OO – CLOSED for multiple culvert replacements from Route BB to Otter Road, Nov. 19-22, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Route 6 – Diamond grinding to smooth the road surface between Green City and Green Castle, Nov. 18-22. The roadway will be narrowed to one lane (W.L. Miller).
