Aging irrigation pump to be replaced at Mozingo Lake

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Maryville City Council has approved a contract with Dexter Pump Service for critical upgrades to Mozingo Lake Recreation Park.

The over $22,000 agreement addresses the aging irrigation infrastructure at the Sechrest 18-hole golf course, where pumps dating back 30 years are becoming unreliable and difficult to repair.

Mozingo Lake Recreation Park Director Jordyn Grennhaw says a recent maintenance check revealed one pump required a temporary welded repair due to unavailable parts.

The replacement, scheduled before summer operations, ensures uninterrupted irrigation vital to maintaining course quality. Staff will also repurpose an existing pump as a backup until further upgrades in 2026.
