BETHANY, Mo. - Two city ordinances were passed at this week's Bethany Board of Aldermen. The first ordinance closed the city's north tax increment financing (TIF) district.
TIF is known as a public economic method used for redevelopment, infrastructure, and other community-related improvements by subsidizing project taxes of local businesses.
The second ordinance amended the 2024 budget. This was set forth due to two of the city's departments going over budget.
While the city's overall finances remained under budget, their solid waste and library departments did exceed it, requiring an amendment once their current fiscal year began on January 1.
