Iowa DNR reminds residents about upcoming hunting seasons

DES MOINES, Iowa - Several hunting seasons in Iowa are nearing their close, offering hunters limited time to head out into the field.

Pheasant, late muzzleloader and archery deer, and archery fall turkey seasons all end on January 10. Small game hunters have until January 31 to pursue squirrel, quail, partridge, and grouse.

Rabbit and furbearer seasons remain open until February 28, while crow season runs from January 14 to March 31. Beaver trapping season will continue through April 15.

For waterfowl hunters, closing dates vary by zone. The north zone dark and light goose season ends January 11, the central zone wraps up January 18, and the south zone finishes on January 25.

Iowa’s light goose conservation order season starts January 26 and runs through May 1 statewide, with additional regulations in effect.
