JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri hunters killed over 10,000 deer during the alternative methods portion of the firearms deer season, which ran from December 28 to January 7.
Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) shows a total of 10,071 deer were taken, including 2,765 antlered bucks, 1,072 button bucks, and 6,234 does.
Franklin County led the state with 223 deer harvested, followed by Pike with 209 and Macon with 207. This year’s hunt total is down from last year’s 12,496 during the same period.
