GLENWOOD, Iowa - Glenwood is set to lose one of its grocery stores next month as Family Fare will close it's doors.

The closure, confirmed by SpartanNash, the store’s parent company, is expected to impact 23 employees, according to the Iowa Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.

In a statement, SpartanNash District Manager Lance Kramer said the decision to close was difficult and expressed gratitude to the store’s customers and employees for their loyalty and dedication.

SpartanNash, headquartered in Byron Center, Michigan, operates nearly 200 stores across 10 states. Layoffs for the Glenwood location are scheduled to take effect on February 14.
