JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri Gov.-elect Mike Kehoe has named St. Joseph native Brigadier General Charles D. Hausman as the next Adjutant General of the Missouri National Guard.

Hausman will take over on February 1, succeeding Major General Levon E. Cumpton, who has been selected for a high-ranking position with U.S. Army Europe and Africa.

With over 36 years of service, Hausman is a seasoned aviation officer and combat veteran who has served in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. He currently holds the role of Army Assistant Adjutant General.

Hausman has commanded at every level from company to brigade and earned numerous military honors, including the Distinguished Service Medal and Master Army Aviator Badge.

Gov.-elect Kehoe praised Hausman’s leadership and dedication, saying he is the right choice to guide the Missouri National Guard in its dual state and federal missions.
