MDC offering virtual program, "Pond to Plate: Fish Cleaning 101"
If you're an angler, part of the thrill of fishing is bringing home a fresh catch. But before you fry up those fish fillets, it's important to know how to properly clean them. To help with that, the Missouri Department of Conservation is offering a free virtual program, “Pond to Plate: Fish Cleaning 101,” next Thursday, April 10th.
The event will take place online from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and will be hosted by staff at the Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center in Joplin. MDC Office Supervisor, Tim Smith will lead the session, demonstrating the right equipment and techniques for cleaning some of Missouri's most popular sportfish.
The program is free, but registration is required. To sign up, visit the Missouri Department of Conservation's website. Participants will need to provide an email address to receive the program link. There will be a live chat Q&A during the session, so you can ask any questions you may have.
