The Pony Express National Museum in St. Joseph will celebrate it's 165th anniversary

The Pony Express National Museum in St. Joseph is gearing up to celebrate the 165th anniversary of the Pony Express. Executive Director of the Museum, Cindy Daffron says a ribbon-cutting is planned for this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the museum located at 914 Penn Street.

"What we're going to do is actually celebrate Johnny Fry leaving out those stable doors. We know the exact time was 7:15 that evening because the train was late coming to town, to Hannibal, St. Joeseph...", says Daffron.

According to Daffron....the ribbon-cutting marks the beginning of a weekend-long celebration at the museum.

The building is called Pony Bar and Guest Museum. The Pony School will be open. There will be reenactors throughout the museum. There will be a western artist in the community room.

All events will be free this weekend. More information is available on the Pony Express National Museum website.
