Missouri Western knocked off Northwest Missouri State 66-43 Saturday evening in St. Joseph.

The Bearcats fell to 6-10 overall, 2-5 MIAA with the loss.

Northwest scored just three points in the final five minutes of the first quarter and trailed 16-9.

The teams combine to shoot 0-14 from three-point range in the first half, but the Griffons outrebounded the Bearcats 23-11 in the first two quarters and led 26-13.

The shooting woes continued throughout the second half as Northwest finished the night with a 23.8-percent field goal percentage.

Kendey Eaton, Kaylani Maiava and Mallory McConkey eached finished with nine points.

Northwest is on the road again Thursday night. The Bearcats take on the Nebraska Kearney Lopers at 5:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 can be heard at 5:10pm.
