Northwest women's basketball led McKendree for much of the game Sunday, but the purple Bearcats took the lead for good with 1:22 remaining en route to a 59-55 win.
The Northwest Bearcats (3-7) shot 50-percent from the field, but were 5-17 from behind the arc.
McKendree led 53-50 late in the fourth quarter when Jaelyn Haggard knocked down a clutch three-pointer to tie the game. McKendree responded on the next trip down the floor as Jordan Heberg knocked down a three-pointer and was fouled on the play. She completed the four-point play to put Northwest behind 57-53.
Kendey Eaton and Haggard each finished with 15 points for the Bearcats.
Northwest will face their final non-conference opponent of the season Wednesday at Bearcat Arena when they host Quincy. Tipoff is set for 6pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 will begin at 5:40pm.
