Northwest hit the 60-point plateau for the second time this season in a 62-17 rout of Northeastern State on Saturday afternoon.
The Bearcats (8-1) dominated from the start jumping out to a 21-0 first quarter lead that ballooned to 45-3 by halftime.
Northwest totaled 568 yards in the win, with 362 coming from a rushing attack spear-headed by Josh Caldwell. The senior running back picked up a season-high 96 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries. Isaiah Strayhorn also rushed for 78 yards on seven carries in the win.
Quarterback Braden Wright accounted for five touchdowns, three rushing and two passing, in the win. He finished the day 11-20 for 142 yards through the air, and also gained 76 yards on 7 carries.
The Riverhawks (0-9) were limited to 29 rush yards in the game, and dug a 52-3 hole before finding the end zone for the first time.
Northwest defensive end Austen Eskew earned a new career-high in sacks with three on Saturday. He's now the MIAA leader in sacks with seven this season.
