Northwest Missouri State men's basketball punched its ticket to the MIAA Tournament championship game with an 86-69 win over Lincoln Saturday afternoon.
The Bearcats (31-0) trailed 6-0 to start the game, but quickly reversed momentum on the Blue Tigers with a 27-2 run over the following six minutes.
The win now brings Northwest within one game of winning its fourth straight conference tournament title, a feat that no other MIAA team has ever completed.
Joey Witthus, the MIAA Player of the Year, led the 'Cats with 23 points, including 5-10 from three-point range.
Diego Bernard added 21 points and seven rebounds.
Trevor Hudgins, the MIAA Freshman of the Year, pitched in with 12 points, seven assists and five steals.
Northwest now shifts its focus to Washburn in the championship game. Tip-off is set for 1pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 12:40pm.
