Northwest Missouri State earned a second straight road win Saturday afternoon, taking down Newman 54-42.
The Bearcats (13-5, 8-4 MIAA) took down Central Oklahoma on its home floor Thursday, and improved to 3-0 all-time with their win over Newman to cap a strong weekend.
The Jets ran as much clock as they could to limit possessions and keep the game low scoring. The Bearcat lead at halftime was 27-16. Newman climbed back in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 41-40, but Northwest closed the game on a 13-1 run to win it.
Molly Hartnett led the 'Cats with 13 points, 10 of them coming in the final quarter.
Mallory McConkey added 11 points and four assists.
Jayna Green scored five points and pulled down a game-high eight rebounds.
The Bearcats return home Thursday to face Lincoln at 5:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 5pm.
