Northwest Missouri State men's basketball righted the ship Wednesday night with a 77-67 road win over Nebraska Kearney.
The Bearcats were locked in a tight battle throughout, tied 59-59 with 5:50 remaining.
Northwest used a 14-2 run to pull away from a pesky UNK squad to lock up a win after dropping back-to-back games to Washburn and Emporia State.
Trevor Hudgins and Diego Bernard were terrific against the Lopers.
Hudgins went for 24 points, while Bernard scored 18 points, pulled in 13 rebounds and tallied five steals and four assists.
Northwest now stands at 24-5 on the season, 17-4 in the MIAA. A Central Oklahoma loss and Fort Hays State locked up the three teams in a tie atop the conference with one regular season game remaining.
The Bearcats host Fort Hays Saturday at 3:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 3pm.
