Northwest Missouri State men's basketball appeared to be in store for its worst night of the season for much of the first half, but things quickly turned around in the final three minutes before halftime.
After trailing 32-13 to Lincoln, the Bearcats (18-2, 11-1 MIAA) went on a 52-8 scoring run over a span of a little more than 15 minutes of game time. Northwest flipped a 19-point deficit to a 36-point lead in the second half.
Trevor Hudgins led the charge with 29 points, seven assists and three steals. He finished 7-11 from three-point range to push him past Zach Schneider for the most career three-pointers in MIAA history.
Schneider, the Bearcats' associate head coach, made 370 threes during his career from 2014-17. Hudgins tied Schneider with his fifth make from beyond the perimeter Thursday night, then took over the record with his sixth and seventh makes of the evening.
Wes Dreamer, in his first game back since leaving early with an injury against Central Oklahoma, put up 15 points. Daniel Abreu added 12 off the bench.
Diego Bernard finished with nine points, five rebounds and five assists.
The Bearcats will be back home Saturday to face Central Missouri at 3:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 3pm.
