The spring sports season around Northwest Missouri State University is set to take off, while Bearcat winter sports squads continue to grind toward the postseason. This week's Bearcat Coaches Show catches up with basketball, track & field, softball, baseball, and tennis.
The indoor track & field season took the Bearcats through Columbia for an opportunity to compete against NCAA Division I opponents. Northwest won three events, including the men's 400m dash. Truman Hare claimed the fifth fastest time in the country. He and head coach Brandon Masters sat down with John Coffey to highlight the success.
The Northwest tennis season gets underway February 14 against William Jewell, but preparations for the opening match has begin. Head coach Mark Rosewell and senior Rafal Bednarczuk joine the program to look ahead to the season.
Bearcat basketball takes the short trip to St. Joseph Saturday to face Missouri Western. Men's head coach Matt Keeley and redshirt freshman Presley Ibeh discussed the strides within the program and the upcoming rivalry battle.

Tony Jandron makes his Bearcat baseball head coaching debut Friday in Denver, CO as Northwest meets Regis University. Jandron goes into his first year leading the program with a solid group of veteran players including Ryan Williams and Brady Miles. The trio joined the show to look ahead to the 2025 campaign.
Northwest softball begins the season in Arkansas with five games in the Hawkins-McGhee Memorial Tournament beginning Friday. Under head coach Naomi Tellez, the Bearcats have posted back-to-back winning seasons and finished in the top five of the MIAA last year. Tellez, all-conference performer Lillie Filger and redshirt freshman Mackenzie Mlnarik join the show with an eye on the upcoming weekend.
